There is something so relaxing about walking through a public garden. I don’t know if it’s all the bright colors, fresh smells, or seeing so many arrangements that make me loose track of time. Walking through public gardens is also a great way to get some ideas for your home garden and learn about some new varieties being grown.
In Minnesota, we are lucky to have the University of Minnesota Extension Program. They have so many brilliant folks working on plant research, plant creation and agriculture problem solving. These are the folks that brought you the Honeycrisp Apple – they know their stuff! I found a great link on their page to the public gardens within Minnesota. It is easy to search by region, so check it out if you are looking for something to do on the weekend, or planning a road trip outside of the Twin Cities!
